i’m RAY crites
I am a screenwriter from the Pacific Northwest specializing in grounded, character-driven dramas about trauma, resilience, and the aftermath of violence. I write stories about multifaceted, realistic characters caught between their best motivations and their worst instincts.
As a teenager with a wild imagination, I wrote stories about the images and scenarios that played out like movies in my mind. Over the years, with notebooks full of scenes, I attended film school, where I learned about drama and filmmaking. I wrote my first one-act play, short film script, and filmed my first project titled VIEWER DISCRETION. That began a journey of creation that spawned several music videos and other film and writing projects over the years.
In 2024, I formed Silver Apple Video, LLC, a small boutique video production company that analyzes and packages videos for private investigators, criminal defense attorneys and law enforcement for criminal defense.
In my spare time, I continued my true passion — writing for the screen.
Currently on my slate I have several feature as and shorts, and have just completed MAGPIE, a story about a combat veteran struggling severe PTSD and NEVERGREEN, a story about a troubled teenage loner that falls in love with a defiant new girl.
Also, I’ve got a few more stories coming down the pipeline that are currently in development: SHEPHERDS, BANSHEE, and RESERVOIR, so stay tuned!
